| Transcript | To Thomas Greg, Belfast 16 October 1756 Dear Sir: I have just now advice that your Brigg was to sail from St. Eustatcia to Jamaica the 25 September. I hope Hathorn will dispatch her here for she will make A fine freight to your place. The Ship I advised you I had bought for our account will, I expect, Sail for Newry About the 1st January. She will cary 350 Tons. Built in Amsterdam for the Greenland trade, [she is as] well found as A Vessel can be, Frigat Built, the strongest Merchant man that ever was seen in this port & A compleat Vessel, either for a Privateer or the greenland trade, or indeed any other. She draws when loaded about sixteen feet Watter. If the Messrs. Corys of Newry would buy A half of her, I think she woud do well for this trade, as she takes the ground well. I should not choose to part with A half of her when discharged of her Cargoe under £600 Brittish. If you dont think this scheme prudent, then inform your Self where the best market for such A Vessel is & be prepared to Dispatch her at once if she arrives safe in Newry.
