| Transcript | 2802 N. [North ?] 2nd St. Phila. [Philadelphia ?] Jan 12 1900 Dear Susanna I hope you will excuse me for not writing to you sooner - as I have been very busy - Uncle Henry is with us now, he is just eight weeks to-day at our house - he is very poorly - the doctor has no hope of him at all - he has got so helpless - we have to lift him and lay him - just like a child. Uncle bought a place for $4600 - he gave $100 on the bargain - but he has given the place up - as he is in no condition now to do anything. My father had his right arm broken in September - one of the horses kicked him, his arm is very painful. I dont think he will every [ever ?] have any power of it. Mother is feeling poorly she has so much to do - and has been doing so much since Uncle Henry was taken sick that she is very much run down in health so that we have quite a hospital at our house. Mrs. Woodburn comes very often to see Uncle Henry - she has been so very kind to him, that I feel very grateful to her - she is in good health and wishes to be remembered to you all. I hope you will write soon and send me those photos you spoke of in your last letter. The weather here is lovely if it continues another month we will have a very short winter. Please give our kind love to Aunt Kennedy - Mrs. Woodburn says when she goes over to Ireland again she will stop a whole week with her. Remember us all to Joseph Girven - let us know if he is still in the old place in High St. Hoping you are all in good health. I remain Your affec. [affectionate ?] Cousin Mary E. McKinley |
